Alex Gough, Adobe's broker, has owned Adobe RealtySM since 1982, taking over from his mother, businesswoman/writer Genevieve Goff. Alex was born in Hollywood, but grew up in San Luis Obispo. He has also worked in title insurance, social services, and newspaper and magazine work in Palo Alto and Copenhagen, Denmark.
An army veteran, Alex has also lived in the Bay Area, Germany, Paris and Copenhagen, and once spent some several months working aboard commercial ships and motorcycling across Europe. His partner in business and life is Anne Sechser Gough from Los Altos-Mountain View.
Alex and Anne have four sons, Max, Michael, Brendan and Kenneth. Alex has been active with local sports, coaching youth soccer for five years and three championships.
Alex and Anne have also been active in many civic activities, including recent fund raising for Transitions-Mental Health, the Mozart Festival and Mission San Luis Obispo. Their adobe bread oven, or horno, is a focal point of activity in the Sauer-Adams courtyard.
A sidelight is that Alex's father was Galen Gough, "The World's Miracle Strongman", a professional wrestler, strongman and stuntman in the 20's, 30's and 40's.
Alex is a veteran real estate generalist, focusing primarily on residential and residential investment, and with downtown commercial real estate.
